Seitz: E. poasina Schs. is allied to the following pyropis. Forewing lustrous blackish-brown, with broad, lighter brownish transverse lines being almost straight; the ring-macula is a small black spot, the reniform macula quadrangular, light reddish-yellow, ringed and strewn with black; the fine light undulate line
is hardly visible. Hindwing brownish-grey with reddish fringes. Expanse of wings: 33 mm. Costa Rica.
