Although this is the closest species to A. osmophora, in terms of its adult wing pattern and genitalia, A. alejandraloriae can be distinguished by having a less dense patch of bristles on the tip of the valvae, a U-shaped saccus and the vesica with a reduced patch of scobinate cornuti, compared with that of A. osmophora.
