Type locality: Costa Rica, Alajuela, Jabalina, Manta Pizote, 288m

This species is slightly smaller than A. apyga, and the tip of its uncus is very distinctive, being expanded laterally to form a triangle, instead of the elongate, thin and downward curved uncus of A. apyga.
