Type locality: CR, Alajuela, Cano Negro, 20 m

Adults of B. bifida may be recognized superficially by the whitish, nearly transparent hindwings of the male and reduced size of the subterminal forewing spots and thicker transverse striae. Because the forewing spots appear to vary in size within some species, this character may not always be reliable.
