Both valves arched; left valve with long, slender, slightly curved saccular spine; right valve without saccular process. The species resembles a poorly marked specimen of Hellinsia trachyphloeus Meyrick, but differs in the exact positioning of the forewing spots and the saccular processes in the male genitalia.
