Amaxia brendacasperae ESPINOZA, 2017

Amaxia brendacasperae
Type locality: Costa Rica, Alajuela, San Ramon.
Among the four species found in this complex [A. osmophora, A. josealfredohernandezi, A. alejandraloriae, A. brendacasperae] this is the only one easily distinguished by the shape of the outer margin of forewing, which is slightly rounded, whereas in the other three species this margin is straight. The species may also be distinguished by the large postbasal patch and three elongate patches in the subapical area of the forewings marked with intense dark brown, combined with a purple surface iridescence.
