Norape ovina is a nomen dubium and the type is lost, but was a female from Suriname. Hopp, in his review of the genus Norape, said that it is impossible to know what species this name, Norape ovina, refers to, in addition there are many other species in Central America, Costa Rica included, that this moth in the photos could be, and all of them, white. The only way to know for sure the identity of these Norape would be through dissection (Guilherme A. Fischer)
